GENDER STEREOTYOPES COMPARISON BETWEEN COLOMBIA AND CHINA

Colombian and Chinese gender stereotypes have a lot of differences, but also have similarities. In both Countries, the stereotype that men are stronger and smarter than women is still in the minds of the people.The role of Chinese women has been described as “family-oriented, husband- centered” same as Colombia where women always have to take care of the house and to live only for the husband and children. Although, in chinese TV, women are portrayed like lonely and lack of  society while in Colombian TV, women like social life and gossip. In labor terms, in both countruies there is this stereotype thar women can not do determined jobs. In China, wowen can´t even study engineering, In Colombia, wowen can study engineering but many times they are in disadvantage with men in the moment to get a job. Even when Colombia and China are far away, the role of the wowan in the society can be very similar.
